BINDI RAITA RECIPE

Bhindi Raita is a soothing accompaniment that has this beautiful fusion of crispy bhindi, chilli which is then mixed up with fresh curd. Here is how to make Bhindi Raita Recipe


Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Vegetable Oil
  • 200 g Bhindi / Okra Cut into small pieces
  • 2 tsp Green Chilli Chopped
  • 1 cup Curd
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala Powder

For Tempering

  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Hing
  • 5-6 Curry Leaves
  • 1-2 Dry Red Chilli

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a karahi.
  2. Add bhindi and green chilli and fry until they are crisp.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and let the bhindi cool.
  4. Whisk the curd until smooth.
  5. Add crispy bhindi, salt, roasted cumin powder and chaat masala powder and mix well.
  6. Keep some crispy bhindi aside for garnishing.
  7. Heat oil for tempering in a small pan.
  8. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, curry leaves and dry red chillies and let them crackle for a few seconds.
  9. Pour the tempering over the raita.
  10. Garnish with some crispy bhindi.
  11. Serve.

Recipe Notes
You can make this raita without tempering too.
